Intentia Association – a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mental health – is launching a new program for free psychological consultations and mediation in 2026. The goal of the program is to support people who need help but cannot afford paid psychological services.
Intentia works to improve people’s mental health and believes that everyone deserves support when facing difficulties. The organization focuses on prevention and early intervention – helping people in time, before problems become more serious.
What the Program Is About
The free consultation program is open to anyone experiencing difficulties with emotions, stress, anxiety, relationships, or other life challenges. The consultations will be conducted by experienced psychologists who will listen, understand, and provide guidance free of charge.
The consultations are suitable for people who:
-
feel exhausted, tense, or lonely
-
want to learn how to manage their emotions more effectively
-
have difficulties in relationships with family members, partners, or colleagues
-
are looking for better ways to cope with their thoughts, feelings, or behavior
Who Can Participate
The program is free for anyone who cannot afford psychological services. There is no need to provide documentation of severe diagnoses or medication use – what matters is that a person feels they need support and can verify a monthly income below 800 EUR.
More information about eligibility and the application process is available on the Association’s website and social media channels: intentia.eu
Why It Matters
Mental health is part of our everyday life – it affects how we think, feel, and behave. When a person is mentally healthy, they have better relationships, make decisions more easily, and cope more effectively with challenges. When we experience difficulties, seeking help is a natural step.
Intentia believes that mental health care should be an essential part of self-care, just like physical health.
What Else “Intentia” Offers
In addition to free consultations, the association works on various projects that provide knowledge and support to people of different ages. These include:
-
Mental health seminars and training sessions
-
Stress-management workshops
-
Communication and family support initiatives
-
Projects focused on young people and small or rural communities
These initiatives are part of “Intentia’s” mission to make mental health care accessible and easy to understand.
Background
“Intentia” began its activities in 2024. Thanks to private donors and the voluntary work of specialists, the organization successfully implemented the project “Psychological Support for Everyone.”
In 2025, a total of 36 free consultations were conducted – both in person in the city of Plovdiv and online for people living in remote areas.
The 2026 program is made possible by the addition of six new specialists over the past year, each of whom shares the cause of accessible mental health care.
The association also conducts a national online survey on attitudes toward mental health care, open to any adult working outside the mental health sector.
How You Can Support the Cause
Any psychologist with a private practice who is willing to work pro bono can join the association by providing one hour per week to support people with low incomes. Together, we can reach more people in need.
Any business can become a sponsor by providing the funds necessary for the continued delivery of psychological consultations. This will allow “Intentia” to achieve a sustainable positive impact on the well-being of Bulgarian society.
Anyone can become a donor by contributing an amount of their choice. These funds help the association cover administrative and accounting expenses related to its activities.
Anyone can also become a volunteer by dedicating time to help promote the association’s work.
