The course is designed for Bulgarian citizens practicing in the field of mental health, including psychologists, psychotherapists, counselors, speech therapists, social workers, coaches, as well as students in all the related disciplines. Anyone seeking to enhance their communication skills in a business context is welcome.
Objectives
The course aims at developing professional communication skills in English, enabling participants to actively engage in international business forums and professional events. Through simulated scenarios, the course provides participants with the opportunity to practice essential skills and receive feedback for their subsequent improvement.
What will you learn?
The course prepares professionals for participation in international events, focusing on practical modules in the following areas:
- How to present a case from your practice during an international event?
- How to communicate with specialists in related disciplines?
- How to prepare and deliver a presentation in a professional forum?
- How to work with clients in English?
- How to communicate with colleagues in informal settings?
Training Structure
The training is conducted 100% online in pairs, allowing for each participant to work with a colleague (or to be assigned a partner, if registering individually). The course includes theoretical modules covering vocabulary, grammar, and composition, independent work, practical modules involving pair work, role-playing, and presentations. At the beginning of the course, participants take a placement test at the B2 level to determine specific needs. A final test is administered at the end of the course. Upon obtaining a satisfactory result in the final test (minimum score of 7/10), participants receive a certificate of completion.
Duration and Price
The course runs for 6 consecutive weeks, with each week comprising 30 to 60 minutes of real-time work and up to 90 minutes of individual or pair preparation. The flexible schedule allows participants to adapt to their weekly commitments. Participants have access to a discussion forum for questions and issues throughout the course. The total cost is 400 BGN per participant, with a 10% discount for those, who register with a partner.
Requirements

Proficiency in English at the B1 level is mandatory, yet certificate is not required. Payment for the course is made after taking the placement test, provided the candidate meets the minimum criteria for full participation.

Participants should allocate a minimum of two astronomical hours per week.

Pariticipants need to have access to a computer/laptop with a stable internet connection. While participating in sessions via a mobile phone is possible, it is not recommended.
Instructor
Karina Byalkova is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Plovdiv. She is the first Bulgarian Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician and she is the Secretary of the Bulgarian Association for Reality Therapy. She has experience as an English language and psychology teacher in a private English high school, and she is TEFL /Teaching English as a Foreign Language/ certified. As a psychologist in private practice, she conducts group trainings, group counseling, and supervision.
